What about No. Charleston?

Visiting Charleston in May for a week. Want to see Historic District, Plantations and drive up and down the coast to other attractions. By the map, No. Charleston seems centrally located. Any comments? Hotel suggestions? Restaurants? Or. stay elsewhere for vacation atmosphere?

What about No. Charleston?

Staying in North Charleston is NOT a good idea. North Charleston is anywhere USA -- and you%26#39;re already so close to downtown Charleston! Downtown is one of the great walking cities anywhere -- stay downtown and endure whatever inconveniences you might experience.

What about No. Charleston?

Since you have posted this question twice, it is clear that you are not convinced! Here is another negative:

In No. Charleston you can get the smell from a paper mill that is located in North Charleston. In warm weather, that is not so nice. We even notice the smell when driving by the airport in a fully air conditioned car!

If you don%26#39;t want to pay the prices downtown, and you don%26#39;t want to stay at one of the beaches, you might be happier in one of the other Charleston suburbs like West Ashley or Mt Pleasant.

Traffic around Charleston is not bad except for brief periods at the rush hours. Anywhere you stay will give you equally good access for traveling to plantations and coastal attractions.

The hotels in North Charleston are popular with business travelers, who are on a strict budget and who need a quick in and out from the airport. The only reason to stay in No. Chas. on vacation is that you got an amazing deal.
