First Timers Need Help!

I use TA for every one of our trips, but I%26#39;m so confused. There will be 15 of us going to Myrtle Beach for the first time in July. The kids range in age from 5 to 17 and I%26#39;m lost about where would be a good place for us. We%26#39;d like to be close enough to attractions and need to be able to cook (breakfast %26amp; lunch).

My travel agent said she%26#39;d look into the Sands but now I see there are several - some where the reviews aren%26#39;t so good.

So I%26#39;m relying on you guys for help...

Thanks

1. First question is do all of you want to be together? If so, then renting a beach house is your best option.

2. If you don%26#39;t want to be together and you all just want to book several rooms then there are a few resorts that are good. What you have to make sure of is that they have a kitchen. So you are looking for suites in the Resorts with 2-3 or even 4 BR.

3. You didn%26#39;t mention a price range or budget. But if you are getting several rooms, everyone%26#39;s budget might not be the same. If you are going in the beginning of July the prices are higher because of the 4th of July holiday.

I suggest:

-Breakers Paradise Towers (www.breakers.com) Perfect area nice full kitchens. Nice pool area. Near Broadway at the Beach with a lot of attractions and activities.

-Roxanne Towers (www.roxannetowers.com) just down the street from Breakers.

-Dayton House (www.daytonhouse.com) (furniture is a little old but it%26#39;s clean and family friendly) just up the street from Breakers

-Hampton Inn %26amp; Suites OF (www.hamptoninnoceanfront.com)

-Sea Island Inn/ Island Vista (www.islandvista.com)

-Grande Shores Resort (www.grandeshores.com)

-Kingston Plantation (www.kingstonplantation.com)

-Compass Cove (www.compasscove.com)

MrsMaryland,

You%26#39;re right, the budgets are all different, so I%26#39;m gonna research the list you gave me. Some of us have kids going to college, so we wanted this to be the big Family vacation - particularly so the cousins could spend time together.

We%26#39;re all family, but after a week or two in the same house...we may not be spending any other holidays together (LOL).

Thank you for your help. It%26#39;s a little easier with input from people who%26#39;ve actually been.

I would heartily agree with MrsMaryland about your options. My husband and I just booked our second trip to Roxanne Towers. It is by far one of the cleanest hotels I have been in. They have some really nice oceanfront two bedroom suites that have: Living Room, Full Kitchen, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, 1 King Bed, 2 Full Beds, Sleeper Couch, 2 Baths, and 3 TV’s.

My husband and I really enjoyed their one bedroom suite on our honeymoon. I called on Tuesday and booked our suite with Jeanne. She was a pleasure to talk to, and I have only gotten exemplary service from the hotel.

Also, the hotel offers a 10% discount with AAA. They may even have some special ';Arrive on Sunday'; discount this summer...not sure. We like to go in the spring.

As far as the rates go, the oceanfront one bedroom suite (Full Kitchen, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, 2 TV’s1 King Bed, 1 Wall Double Bed, 1 Bath) runs between $204 and $214 per night in July (which is $130-$140 more than we%26#39;re paying for our nights in March). The two bedroom suite is $274-$294.

I hope you find a great deal and have a wonderful trip!

Not a fan of the Sands. Have only stayed in two of their propertys...Sand Dunes %26amp; Ocean Dunes. That was enough.

My favorite area for hotels is the one mentioned in the above post....near the Dayton House, Roxanne Towers, etc.

Another place I like close to that area is The Caribbean Resort.

If you choose a condo...the options are endless. Try vrbo.com.

Tracee, 2 years ago, my husbands family all met in Myrtle Beach for a reunion. There were 41 of us! With kids ages 2 to 22! We all stayed at Carolina Winds and they couldn%26#39;t have been more accomodating! Each family had their own condo, so we had a quiet place to relax if we wanted to. We met up at the pool every night, and of course on the beach during the day. And some of the little kids had ';sleepovers'; in each others condos. The resturant at Carolina Winds only served breakfast and lunch, but one night they

served just our family a wonderful dinner buffet! Delicious!

And it is very close to all attractions like Broadway at the Beach....and grocery stores are just down the street. Great Location!
