My wife and I were planning to be in HH during the week of the Heritage PGA tournament in April and was wondering if anyone has any insight into whether the island will be extremely busy. We%26#39;re staying in Palmetto Dunes and are not going to the tournament, just planning a regular vacation. Wasn%26#39;t sure if it%26#39;s best to avoid HH during that week or not. We%26#39;ve been the first week of July, during the busy season, so not sure if that gives us any insight into how busy it will be. Any info/advice would be great, thanks!!!
HHI during Heritage Golf Tournament??
We always seem to be on HHI during the Heritage. It is extremely busy but not more than the summer months- the biggest difference being that you can%26#39;t really get into Sea Pines after Tuesday because of theTournament. The restaurant s are very crowded but for only 2 people you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem- plan and make reservations before you arrive- especially for the nicer places. Enjoy- we%26#39;ll be there again and are hoping for the same awesome weather we had last year!!
HHI during Heritage Golf Tournament??
You will be fine as long as you don%26#39;t want to go to Sea Pines. IN PD there is so much to do...golf..beach...bikes...walks...tennis. That will keep you busy! Thre are some great places to eat at north end to keep you out of the rush. Frankie Bones, Hugos, Alexanders. All great with good early bird specials.
Have a great time!
Actually, four of us made it down to HHI last year (2006) coincidentally during the tournament. It%26#39;s rather embarassing because I am a golf fan, but we really had no idea that it was the same week. It%26#39;s a long story as to why we never looked into it, but rest assured that we would have thought the same as you before making our trip. We stayed at a place in Sea Pines as well. I have to admit that in general, the tournament didn%26#39;t really interfere all that much with out enjoyment. Truthfully speaking, even the traffic in Sea Pines wasn%26#39;t all that bad. Now it is true that you will not be able to drive to Harbor Town later in the week unless you have special parking permission. It didn%26#39;t bother us because we simply biked in from our villa. The restaraunts were festive during the evenings later in the week which caught us by surprise. Some members in our group have been going to HHI for over 20 years and they%26#39;ve never seen the ';nightlife'; such as it was. But it was still fun...and a nice change of pace. I can%26#39;t imagine the island would be any different that week than a typical summer week. I say go, enjoy yourself! And plus you%26#39;ll be way over in PD. If we could hadle Sea Pines last year, it%26#39;ll be no problem for you!
