This is where we stayed next to last year and it looked amazing. We snuck over there one day and let the kids play (will be 18 months and 3 /12) they loved it and we loved, because we did not have to entertain them. So , why is everyone knocking it? We could care less about going to all the attractions cause our kids are to little. Please is it nice or not?
Compass cove! Help me
I stopped in there to ';nose around'; just the other day...it is one of the only places that has several heated outdoor pools at this time of year, and the indoor pool area (which is in a climate controlled greenhouse-type structure) seemed very nice and clean. The grounds in general seemed very well kept.
I think most of the complaints stem from the rooms in the older building(s) as you have quite a choice of rooms here. You can also check VRBO.com or other websites for renting a condo direct from the owner (when doing so they often have photos of the actual unit which you will not have access to if you book with the hotel)
From the looks of the grounds, pools %26amp; spas, the only nearby property that would exceed this one is the Crown Reef, which is likely in a higher price category..
Hope this helps.
Compass cove! Help me
2a%26#39;s4me,
Just wondering where did you stay last year?I think most complain about the rooms but,I think they redid most rooms according to their website.
Just how easy is it for folks to sneak over and use the pools and pool bar?If it is I will stay next door for a cheaper rate.
People were knocking the Compass Cove because of the much needed repairs and upgrades in the Pinnacle building. Since then, they have done major rennovations to the Pinnacle building from what they have said. Other than that, I don%26#39;t see a problem with staying there. They have a nice pool area. We stayed in the Pinnacle building some years back and the room did need some repair but since then, it has changed. The area is probably the more congested area of MB.
I disagree with MsMaryland about it being more congested.
It is far enough away from the Family Kingdom and the old Pavilion that it was not that bad but it is still close enough to dirve to then things.
agree with last post...
Compass Cove is far enough south you only have the traffic that flows between MB %26amp; Surfside on down, not the MB attractions traffic.
CC is a great choice all-around, reasonable rates for what they offer.
As for the question about staying elsewhere %26amp; sneaking in, as you can imagine, many people do this %26amp; they are cracking down...as manyothers have done, they require wristbands in the pool areas %26amp; change the colors regularly. You can sometimes get away with it but they do check %26amp; they can prosecute (read the signs!)
Well we went on the first week of August and it was crowded.
Every time we stepped outside of the hotel, there were people cruising down the street and lots of people walking up and down the sidewalks. And the beach at Compass Cove was crowded for my liking. So I guess it just depends on when you go. I know what I saw. And comparing that area to when stayed at Breakers it was much more busy. Also when we drove up to get to the Pavilion it was very congested and just trying to get on the Bypass was crowded and this is before they built all of the new bypasses and interchanges.
