Best area to rent for the month of February.

My daughter and I would like a month to rest and rejuvinate. We are looking for a cozy ';cottage'; in an area that is safe and has some life in the month of February. Is the Island a ';ghost town'; or will ther be people around? I have found several places on South Forest Beach, but I wondered if we would be happier in a resort like Palmetto Dunes. I would love some input...

We are not a ghost town in the winter. For residents It%26#39;s the beginning of Tennis and Golf Season. Most of our restaurants are open. While you will find snow birds like yourself anywhere, most will be in either SeaPines or Palmetto Dunes.

The reason being that many bring their clubs or raquets and want to spend the season playing their favorite sport. In Captains Walk where I own a two bedroom condo, we have almost a 50% occupancy.
