Dating Ideas

I%26#39;m from New Orleans, LA, and I am going to Myrtle beach Feb. 16-20 with my girlfriend. I%26#39;ve been trying to find some ideas for a romantic date, but I have not been able to find any. I am looking for a restaurant (fine dining), and ideas for something that a couple can do after. I am 20 years old. Thank you.

that is quite an adventure for a 20 yr old. You need to give us an idea what part of the beach you will be staying. MB is a very large and there are nice restaurants up and down the Grand Strand. In MB, New York Prime Steakhouse, Cagney%26#39;s, Throughbreds, RIOZ just opened up. Being 20 yrs old, will limit your nightlife. Broadway at the Beach has some decent dining establishments, then there are things to do after that in the area.

We%26#39;re staying at the Ocean Drive Beach and Golf Resort.

You%26#39;re in the city of North Myrtle Beach....and ODR will be ~15 miles north of Myrtle Beach. Sea Blue - International will be high but good as is the Bone Fish Grill. Carrabbas Italian, Villa Tuscanna Itallian, Dino%26#39;s for breakfast....in the Little River area about 4 miles north you have Brentwood-American, Parson%26#39;s Table-American, Casa villa-Mexican, and Crab Catchers has good fresh seafood. A little further north is Calabash Seafood and about 3-4 miles to your south at Barefoot Landing ...Umberto%26#39;s italian and t-Bonz steaks. Logan%26#39;s in NMB has good steaks and Hamburger joe%26#39;s has good burgers. You have the standards like Applebees, Fuddruckers, Fridays, Cracker Barrell, etc.

Spanish Galleon is right next to ODBR if not in same building. Ad says girls over 18 admitted free on Fridays. I%26#39;d take that to mean they have some kind of under 21 policy in place.

Probably more for the older set, there is Harold%26#39;s a block or two out Main Street. Set up more for Shag dancing but I think they%26#39;re open to all ages.

For breakfast you have Hoskin%26#39;s Restuarant a few blocks out Main Street and Atlantis a mile and a half up Ocean Blvd.

You have two Duffy Street Seafood Shack locations. One is a block from ODBR on Main Street. The original and one we like is north to next stoplight and left on Sea Mountian Highway. Sets on left. Old Two story beach house.

I will tell you that Harolds on the Beach or (HOTO%26#39;s as it is known) and Fat Harolds are pretty much 100% ';shagging'; people, and sorry friends, average age will be probably 50+. Last time we were there, we were the youngest people in Fat Harolds and we are 49/54, went for friends b-day party. Dynamites at Doc Holidays should be open in Feb, they offer music/DJ%26#39;s, its a restaurant located behind Hooters off Hwy 17 in North MB, they allow all ages in. Its not the ';fine'; dining you are looking for but might offer some entertainment. Spanish Galleon is a younger crowd, you are staying next door you can certainly ask what ages are allowed and when.

gonefishin listed just about all my fav places up that way! Sea Blue, yea, its pricey, but I love the ambiance and the food is wonderful...tapas style, so you can really sample alot of items. Parsons Table is located in an old church, has a spectacular menu, and sometime the owner will break out in song. The Brentwood is also another great option for a romantic night out....

and to add to the ambiance, why not hire a limo for the evening and leave all the driving and parking to the driver. Its not as pricey as one might think, and if you want this trip to be something that she will remember for a long time...a limo could be the icing on the cake...that way, your after dinner options are endless...you can find a great place to party, head to a nice beach area and stargaze...its all up to you! A number of clubs will allow you in (and band you) but will not serve you....
