Kiawah Island in March

My husband and I are planning to go to Kiawah at the end of March. He wants to play tennis; I want to swim. Will it be warm enough then to swim? Are there pools at the resort (we were thinking of renting one of the villas) where you can swim laps?

Kiawah Island in March

Late March will be lovely for tennis and golf. You may have some days that are great for swimming - especially in a protected pool area - but the water will be chilly, since the Resort pools are not heated. The ocean will be cold in March, as well; however, the shallow water near the beach warms up quickly with a few days of strong sun. In any case, the ocean water will be no cooler than it is inearly summer in New YOrk and New Jersey.

The Kiawah Island Golf Resort has two pools, one at Hight Heron Park and the other, for adults only, at the East Beach Tennis Center. These two pools open only to guests who rent through the Resort.

Several of the property ';regimes';on Kiawah - Inlet Cove, Sparrow Pond, and Atlantic Beach - have pools that are open to peope renting in those residential areas, even if the guests are not renting through the Resort. The best of these regime pools (largest, and with a deep end) is in the Inlet Cove Club area.
