We%26#39;re interested in taking our 3 kids to M.B. over the summer. Looking into a condo to rent, or a hotel suite. Anyone have any suggestions or advice? Any input would be appreciated since we%26#39;ve never been there b4.
Myrtle Beach with Children... where to stay?
My personal favorite is Breakers Paradise Towers (www.breakers.com). But you will get all sorts of suggestions.
Some others haven%26#39;t stayed in any of these but they seemed nice from the outside:
-Sea Island Inn
-I hear that Dunes Village is nice (looking into that myself)
-Long Bay Resort
-Hampton Inn Oceanfront- location not as great as the others
Have stayed at Compass Cove Resort. Nice for kids but I don%26#39;t like the location as much as with the Breakers.
Myrtle Beach with Children... where to stay?
We have stayed at OCEAN CREEK..in the South tower..with a
3 bedroom... Lots of pools.. love it there...
Also have stayed at Barefoot Resort...its not on the beach tho...
but during the season there is a trolley to the beach or you can drive
and park...
Thanks so much, I%26#39;ll check it out online.
Decide first if you want ocean front/ocean view or not important. I assume with children somewhere close to ocean is preferable. NO shortage of nice condo%26#39;s up and down the strand. Next question, are you wanting to be close to everything, in the middle of everything, then stay in Myrtle Beach. If you are not so interested in being in the hub bub, go further north to Cherry Grove or south to Sufside/Garden City. Those area%26#39;s are more family oriented. There are multiple real estate companies in the MB area that offer rentals, most condo%26#39;s have pools. If you want a resort, you can find some with effiencies, pools, maybe indoor pool, jaccuzzi, game room. There are hundreds of resorts and thousands of houses/condos. Decide what your price range is, when you go through the real estate company, they usually break rentals down by ocean front, ocean view, 2nd row back, and break down by price also. Before we moved here I prefered condo rentals over resort rentals I wanted a full kitchen to be able to cook breakfast/lunch and only eat out for dinner, little cost savings that way.
You might also check out www.vrbo.com then scan for properties that have been mentioned. SouthWind Villas are also very nice (sister property to Sea Island...opps, I mean Island Vista, they just changed their name) Grande Shores, Long Bay or Monteray Bay Suites would be a few others to also look into.
I really love the beach in this area...nice to walk, very gradual drop off into the ocean, so great for the kids, waves arent real huge. Not far from some great places to eat, almost between Broadway at the BEach and Barefoot Landing too!
:)
Thank you all for your suggestions! I appreciate it very much!
We stayed at the Sea Island this past summer - 3 families with 7 kids and loved it. Full kitchen and full size washer/dryers. Nice residential area so pretty much whoever was on the beach in front of the resort was staying there. Plenty for the kids to do.
