Advice Please on MB in summer?

Ive heard different things about Myrtle Beach

On one hand ive heard its a great place to go in the summer, with great nightlife,a real busy town, good weather, loads of women, good beach and good weather. For me this sounds like it would be a great place to go on J1 for 2 monthds or so?

Ive also heard negative things such as the police being way over the top!!And it wouldnt be a great place to go?

Any advice on whats true??We%26#39;ll a group of young 20 somethings. So were looking for a lively summer!

(sorry if im repeating the post below)

Advice Please on MB in summer?

First off, I have been going to MB for some years now. And where I stay I have only seen 1 police car cruising the street and just some driving home or to work. So that is a myth about the police. If you are on the beach mostly during the day, you won%26#39;t see anyone but lifegurads or beach patrol whatever they call themselves and they don%26#39;t bother you either unless they see something suspicious. Also, I noticed that North MB has more police presence than the area near North Ocean Boulevard in MB. And South Ocean Boulevard near Family Kingdom has probably more as well.

I think during special holidays or events the police increase their presence as they should. i.e. 4th of July, Bike Week, Memorial Day, etc. That being said, they don%26#39;t actually harass you if you aren%26#39;t doing something you shouldn%26#39;t be doing. MB is probably the best beach town I have been to where the Police DON%26#39;T bother you; compared to VA Beach, OC MD, Daytona, etc.

That being said, 20 somethings there is lots of nightlife (from what I hear and have seen) I am beyond that age and have a family of 3 children (4 including the husband) so I don%26#39;t frequent bars or clubs.

But I did notice that Broadway at the Beach was pretty thick with young people at the various bars and hang out spots that they had.

Bummz on the Beach was a fun looking place. It was right next door to our hotel (Breakers Paradise Towers) and there is live music and bands and that type thing.

Someone else on here can offer more specific information

Advice Please on MB in summer?

thanks, and would it be big enought to stay in for 2 months, you wouldnt get bored??sounds like there are lots of activities

Summer time the crowds lean more to family activities. Still plenty of singles and nightlife. Not a Mardis Gras or Las Vegas type atmosphere if that%26#39;s what you%26#39;re looking for.

Police not way over the top. They%26#39;re just doing their job. Won%26#39;t tolerate public intoxcation or drunk driving.

Its a great place for young and old alike. We are 49/54 yrs old and absolutely love the night life here, we are doing something all the time. Keeps us young. Where ever we go its always a mix from the 20 somethings on up and everyone has fun. I repeat, Broadway at the Beach is exactly what you are looking for. As for the police, they are not into harrassing people not breaking the law. If you are doing something you should not be then chances are they will find you. I don%26#39;t think I have ever heard MB police officers being accused of harrassing, except from people who deserved to be harrassed. Bike Weeks in May will have stronger police presence. It will be VERY HOT during the summer, most likely during the day you would want to hang out around pool/ocean. Evenings go to great restaurants/night life. You will not be disappointed in MB
